Silver for Foam Lake Boys and Raymore Girls at Provincial Curling

Both the Foam Lake boys team and Raymore girls team captured silver medals at the 2012 SHSAA Provincial Curling Championships.

The Foam Lake boys defeated Estevan in the tournament opener, but fell to the B-side with a loss to Saskatoon's Holy Cross.  Foam Lake dominated the B- event, with 9-2 and 10-1 victories over North Battleford and Swift Currrent respectively, and a 6-4 win over Assiniboia in the B-final to capture a berth in the medal round.  In the semi-final, they faced North Batlleford again, and again defeated them 9-2.  This put them in the gold medal match against Holy Cross, the only other team to beat them in the tournament, and as it turned out, Holy Cross would beat Foam Lake again, leaving Foam Lake with the silver medal.

In the girls championship, the Raymore girls immediately fell to the B-side with a loss to Regina's Campbell in the opener.  Raymore clawed their way to the B-final with victories over Loon Lake, Saskatoon's St. Joseph's, and Regina's Campbell, but fell to the C-side with a loss to Moose Jaw's Vanier.  Raymore then played Saskatoon's St. Joseph's again, winning and capturing a C-side berth in the medal round.  In the semi-final, they soundly defeated Lampman, and thus faced Regina's Campbell for the third time, this time for the title.  Campbell prevailed in the gold medal game, with Raymore taking home silver.
